TTCRD Challenge: Always Anything Goes sponsored by A Day for Daisies

Greetings!

The new Sizzling Summer issue of TTCRD magazine is out!  Check out the video above.  It is packed with all kinds of inspiring goodies and even freebies.  You will also get to see the second in my 5 part "Getting Digi with TTCRD" tutorial on using digital stamps using a freebie from Create with TLC.

I hope your having a wonderful day! This week over at TTCRD we our honored to have A Day for Daisies as our sponsor this week. I was honored to work with the Fairytale Slipper.

Here's my creation...

Elegantly Ever After

I created this card using a multi-fold card technique.  I layered on dp pieces and white mat on each section of the card. The sentiment "Once upon a time...she lived elegantly ever after," is from Create with TLC. I colored my image using Copic markers. I finished my card with pearl beads and swirl diecuts.

I hope that you will join us for this week's challenge. We would love to have you play along with us and it is always anything goes.

Create with TLC New FREEBIE Promo Release

Greetings!

*UPDATE ON 7/24/2013*

I hope that your Tuesday is sailing along.  I feel like a duck with the off and on rain we are having today.  I am popping in to tell you that Create with TLC has another promo set up for grabs when you make a purchase from the Artfire Store (between now and Thursday).  This set is a must for the bird lover, but will have you chirping Paulette's praises even if you are not an ornithologist.  She has put together a collection of gorgeous bird images, papers and sentiments.

It is usally at this point that I tell you I have a project to share with you using this gorgeous set; however, I am still waiting for it to dry.  This set inspired a new creative side in me that I have never explored.  I am hoping that by tomorrow I will be able to update this post with my project that I created using this set.  So be sure to check back.

Here are the two creations I made using images/sentiments from this set.  My plate isn't completed because my sister, the artist, needs to put her finishing touches on it, but I wanted to share with you how oober easy it is to create.

Bird Plate
I purchased this plate for a $1 from my local Dollar Store.  I cut the image out on my Cameo and adhered it to the plate using Modge Podge.  I then put a thin coat of Modge Podge over the image and let it dry.  Once it dried I used my Crackling gel and coated the image with it and then let it dry.  This is how it turned out.  I had never tried this before, but am pretty please with the ease and outcome of it.  My sister will write a saying around the plate for me and paint the edges.  Hopefully I will be able to share that with you when she completes it.

Free as a Bird
This card was created using a free svg from Bird's Cards (hehe).  Bird is very generous with her creations and I truly appreciate it.  I used my Cameo to create a cardbase and then I used her svg to make the front for the card.  I cut out everything else using either the Cameo or a diecut.  I then added some gems in the center of my flowers and Stickles.

In the meanwhile, I didn't want you to miss out on this PHENOM of a deal, because all you have to do is purchase something from the store and you get this set.

Here's a sampling of what you'll get...

So don't wait too long before this awesome set flies away (*gigl*).  I am so excited about the project that I made using this set and *fingers crossed* once it is dry I will be able to show it all to you.

Oh and one more thing, would you like even more FREEBIES?  Well, Paulette has a secret page on her block at the top called "Vintage Graphics."  If you click on that tab you will enter a whole new world of free vintage images.  Isn't she awesome?!  Just don't forget to leave her some love.

Beccy's Place New Release "Country Florals"

Greetings!

I hope your week is off to a good start.  I am still have a bit of time delay problems with my Blogger so forgive me for posting this a bit late.  As I mentioned before, I have had the honor of serving as a Guest DT for "Beccy's Place" and it has been so much fun working with her beautiful images.  Today I am sharing with you her new release set, "Country Florals."

Country Floral Set

I used the flowers and wordart from this set to create my creation.

Bloom and Grow
I love color if you don't know that about me.  I have always been drawn to bright and bold colors (although purple is my most FAV color ever).  This set allowed me the opportunity to go bright with the center of the flowers while keeping the petals muted.  I started out by cutting out a flower pot card base (yes, I used my Cameo) courtesy of Bird's Cards.  I embossed my flower pot using an embossing folder.  I also cut out my bow (which I created), flowers and leaves using my Cameo.  I colored them using Copic markers and added some Stickles and 3D Lacquer for a shine.

You can pick this set up and so many more by visiting Beccy's Place store.  To see what the other designers have created using this and other sets, please visit Beccy's blog.

Before I leave you, I want to share another card I made using a new release from Beccy's Place.  I thought I had posted this card, but didn't and I *heart* this set.  It is from Beccy's Wedded Bliss set.  I actually ended up giving the card to a friend to give to a friend who was getting married.

Here's my card...

Wedded Bliss
I used a simple 6x6 kraft card base; however, using my Cameo I created a scalloped lace type card front.  I then layered on some dp and trimmed the edge with pearls.  I then added on ribbon and my image.  I colored my image using Copics.  What a fun card and image to play with!

Well, that is truly the end of my post.  Make sure you check out the awesome sets that Beccy has available. *smile*

"It's a Jungle" Create with TLC Blog Hop!!!

Greetings!

I pray your Sunday is blessed. Today is Create with TLC's "It's a Jungle" blog hop.  I am sure several of us have felt like we were in the jungle with the heat and humidity.  Well, the DTs and special guest designers are going to take you on a voyage through the great outdoors.  I am kicking things off with a beautiful vintage FREEBIE image entitled, "Vintage Wood Cut Bird."
Vintage Wood Cut Bird (just right click and save)

I admit that it took me a bit to realize what I wanted to do with this image.  I loved the challenge and versatility of it and finally settled my brain on doing a type of mosaic tile creation.

Here's my creation...

I started with a very simple 6x6 black cardstock base and layered on some colorful dp.  I then matted my image to a black and then green cardstock.  I ran this image through my Cameo and created boxes to cut out the tiles.  I colored the image using Copics and covered it with some 3D Crystal Lacquer.  I love how vibrant the lacquer made the colors in the image.  I good easily see this scene in the rainforest or some tropic jungle.  Anyways, I also cut out some vines and a flower medallion using my Cameo and finished the card off with some bluish-green gems.  I would love to see what you create using this beauty.

Here's another creation I made using the wordart freebie that Paulette is giving away today.  I added the birds (to keep with my bird theme) and plan on using this as wall art in my craftroom.  I colored it using Photoshop and added some dimension to it.  I am showcasing it on a totebag, but you can use it in a variety of ways.

Art of God tote
Okay, now to continue your jouney through the jungle, check out the super talented Carla!!

You can check out the following awesome *new* sets (and more) by visiting the Artfire Store.

Thanks for hopping along with us today and don't forget to leave Paulette (and the other designers) some love for her generosity and inspriation.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

Now get to hopping...

Expect Miracles!

Greetings!

Happy Sunday!  If you stopped by my blog earlier you would have noticed that there was a different posting up.  Well, Blogger got me!  Apparently, there was a mix up in my blog posting because you should have been seeing this one and not the Blog Hop one (which was set to go live later).  My apologies to Paulette and the other DTs.  I hope that you will stop back bye to check that out because there will be several goodies to collect. *smile*

Well, the card that I intended to share with you is actually using an image from Milk and Coffee stamp company and a sentiment from Create with TLC.  I couldn't believe my how well these to meshed up.

I can't the card pretty simple and you can check it out here...

Expect a Miracle
I used a nay blue 6x6 cardstock base and layered on white cardstock and dp.  I then added a border and used my Spellbinder's diecuts to cut out my image and matting.  I colored my image using Copics and finished it off my using my SU punch to cut out my wordart.  This is the first card that I have created in a long time that I haven't used my Cameo to create.

Well, again my apologies for the earlier mix up and I hope you join the Create with TLC DTs later for our hop!

See you then and thanks for looking and commenting!

TTCRD Challenge: Always anything Goes sponsored by Anne's Digital Art

Greetings!

I hope your having a wonderful day! This week over at TTCRD we our honored to have Anne's Digital Art as our sponsor this week. I was honored to work with Anne's lovely Daffodil image.

Here's my creation...

Dances with Daffodils

I started out with a 6x6 piece of yellow cardstock for my cardbase. I designed the card using my Cameo.  I layered a piece of dp paper behind the front panel.  I added some grey cardstock to the front panel of the card as well as used it to mat my image and sentiment.  The sentiment "And then my heart with pleasures fills, and dances with daffodils," is from Create with TLC. I colored my image using Copic markers. I am horrible with the names of flowers unless they are roses or sunflowers.  I kept calling this flower a tulip (I even put it on my watermark until I realized my error and changed it).  *smile*

I hope that you will join us for this week's challenge. We would love to have you play along with us and it is always anything goes.

Divers-a-garden and BLOG CANDY WINNERS!

Greetings!

My apologies for the late post, but it is audit time at work and that means late nights and busy busy busy.  I am stopping by to share a little project I made using a few of Mo Manning's cute little fairy babies and a sentiment from Create with TLC.

However, before I show you my project, allow me to announce my blog candy winners because they have been patiently waiting.  First of all THANK YOU to everyone who participated and sent me well wishes on my bday!  I truly appreciate it. The winners are...

1.  Peggy T. - Beccy's Place
2.  Ardilla  - Create with TLC
3.  Terriavidreader - Mo's Digital Pencil

CONGRATS!  Please email me ladies at cards by candy {at} yahoo {dot} com to get your prizes.  Again, a big THANKS to everyone who joined in the fun and stay tuned for more fun give-a-ways. :-)

Here's my project...

This was truly something that I pulled off the top of my head.  I fell in love with the original bumble bee fairy baby that Mo created and asked for a black version.  She was kind enough to do so.   She then kept going and I LOVE them all.  I wanted to make a little garden with them in it so I started out making a box and then I cut out a fence and grass on my Cameo.  I colored my cuties using Copic markers and added white gel pen and Stickle accents.
